"Well, then I guess that leaves Edmund and Brutus!"

"Sounds grand," I said with a grin. Brutus and Ed first."
Ed rolled his eyes but his eyes were bright and he looked quite excited. He slipped on his mail, and retrieved his sword from its' sheath. Brutus produced a sword almost twice the length and weight of Ed's, and, carrying it easily in one hand, walked to the open area around where the fire had been the night before. I looked at the others.

I had to supress a laugh behind my hand because of how tiny Edmund looked compared to Brutus.

"Watch it," Ed warned, pointing his long sword at Lil.

"No one is going to get injured, right?" I asked, nervously.

"Of course not, m'lady. We would never hurt a comrade! It's more like a joust...all in good fun," Brutus explained in his deep, relaxing voice.

I stuck my tounge out at Ed.

"En guarde!" Caspian and Peter called out at the same time. They looked at each other and grinned.
"Three....two...one...go!" Caspian shouted. Instantly, in one easy motion, Brutus brought the sword up dangerously close to Edmund's face. Ed ducked with lightening fast reflexes, and made an impressive swipe at the centaur's hind legs. Brutus of course dodged the blow, and dealt another, making sharp steely contact with Ed's sword. Edmund must have been stronger than we gave him credit for, because his sword was so much lighter and still held up to Brutus'. The blades flashed and clanged. I had seen these two go at it before, so I stole a glance at the others' expressions, wondering what they were thinking of the duel.

I was watching the duel intently. It reminded me of when my brothers fought. I admired Edmunds reflexes though. The kid was faster than I'd given him credit for.

My eyes practically popped out of my head. Being under the water most of the time I had never really seen a sword fight, I had seen swords many times before, but not people actually using them. The light glistened just perfectly off the swords as they clanked together.

Brutus was obviously stronger, so gradually he was driving Ed backwards. The swords kept up a constant clanging and Ed made quite a few more impressive swings, one that Brutus nearly missed blocking. However, he slowly but surely was moving backwards. I looked around. If he kept going straight back, he would trip over a boulder about two feet tall directly in his path. He had no way of seeing it, and none of us could call out to him for fear of breaking his concentration. I knew that if he tripped, Brutus would have him pinned in a matter of seconds.

I watched the fight progress. It was fun watching people I hadn't grown up with fight because now I didn't know all their moves.

Peter had a very good idea with this sword fight thing. Definitely impressive.

Ed was getting nearer and nearer to the rock, without any signs of seeing it. I was hoping for his dignity's sake, that he would somehow avoid it or something, but it wasn't looking too good.
