"Oh! You don't know! Hes...well he's king of...basically all this world, and quite a few others. He created all the lands in this world, including Narnia and Archenland and Telmar and Ettinsmoor...all of them are his." I was a little surprised he hadnt heard of him before, but then again he hadnt been around in a hundred years before recently, and if he had been locked in here he would never have heard of him.

He snorted. "Ettinsmoor? You realize that's where you currently are, right?"

"Yes..." I said slowly. "What of it?"

"There is no goodness in this place, Lucy, none," he muttered, all of a sudden growing distant.

"Well he can't be everywhere at once! Besides, Narnia used to be a horrid place as well, but Aslan came back and saved it! I'm sure that's what he'll do here; there's always hope," I said gently, my faith not a bit shaken by his cynicism.

"I'm glad you have hope, because you're about the only one," he muttered.

"Things never happen in the same way twice; that's what Aslan says. That's why when I came back to Narnia the second time, it was in a different way. Narnia was once again in despair, and Aslan came through again, but differently. Ettinsmoor was once peaceful, but it can't become peaceful again the same way it was before. We just need to believe. Aslan will come." I said firmly.

He sighed. "Okay, if you say so." He wanted to believe, for her, but this place could never be happy.

"You'll see." I smiled. "Anyway...should I continue with the story? We've not even gotten to what I'm doing here now."

"Oh, yeah. I forgot how long we have to go," he said grinning slightly.

I stuck my tongue out at him and continued. "I was still in England, and it had been one earth year. But, see...earth time and this world's time don't run parallel. It had been a hundred and fifteen Narnian years, and we were suddenly called back into Narnia from a train station. We were taken right to Cair Paravel, which is the castle there where we had previously lived, but it was now ruins." I continued to tell him about Trumpkin, the Old Narnians, the Telmarines, and what I had been told of Caspian's life, including how he came to us and how he had blown Susan's horn to bring us back. I told him about Peter's battle with Miraz, and how nobody would believe me that Aslan was with us. "But he was," I assured him. "And they came to know it in time, too."

"You think they'll be able to rescue you?" he asked. Her oldest brother, Peter, sounded like a gifted fighter and a smart one too. The only problem was that the only way people ever got into this castle was if the Empress wanted them too.

I sighed. "I know theyll try. The girls will, too." I went on with my story and explained being sent incognito to school, meeting Lil and Cam, and our adventures last year, including Peter's death which still made me choke up a bit.

"So, he died but didn't really die?" he asked, confused.

"No he really died," I sniffled a bit. "I had to bring his body back to England. My sister...she was back home and we had to bury him and...oh it was awful." I wiped my eyes. "I'm sorry, I thought I was over this."
